Finally here in Washington DC

Yesterday we had a great day in Chapel Hill. We ate at Time Out Chicken (yummy fried chicken and mac and cheese), then we went to a Durham Bulls game.
Today we drove the rest of the way to Washington DC and went to the Museum of Natural History. We saw dinosaur bones, human skeletons and the Hope Diamond. I found out that the Smithsonian has 30,000 human skeletons (wow)!
Stay tuned tomorrow, we are seeing the Capital and the Spy Museum.

going to the movies

12/30/09
Today I went to the movies with my grandparents and cousins and saw Alvin and the Chipmunks the sqequal. The Great Escape Theater in Dacula, GA is very accessible, but it gets crowded very easily so you should get there early. The Theater is also very nice and clean. When I was there I got my own popcorn and my cousins shared the movie was funny and was for all ages even though its for little kids.

I had a good time and want to do it some time again.

Movie Theaters and Movies by Sonya

The Roberts family loves going to the movies, Conor especially. There are a few things that make a theater good for wheelchairs. Enough handicapped parking, individual family restrooms and good seating in the theater are the most important things.
As for good ones around here, our first choice is Discover Mills with Hamilton Mill being a pretty close second.
The very worst is Mall of GA. Parking is always an issue, they have no family restrooms and the handicapped seats are up front and to the far right or left. There are no center seats for wheelchairs.

Good Movies We Have Seen Lately

We all loved Avatar. Conor liked it because the main character is in a wheelchair, but when he enters his Avatar body he is able to walk, run and all the things he can't do in his real body. After the movie, Conor says' "I wish I could do that."

Sherlock I liked a lot... the boys, not as much. The humor is a little subtle and it is certainly a version of Sherlock Holmes people have never seen before. Robert Downey Jr. is perfect to play this character.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes Chick-fil-A Bowl Breakfast

This morning I got up early and Dad and I went downtown to the Marriott Marquis to go to the FCA Breakfast.

I got to meet Tony Dungy and Ernie Johnson, Jr. Thanks to Uncle Michael for getting the tickets! Lots of fun, but I need a nap after getting up at 5:30am!
